Free polyphonics

How to get free polyphonics

You need three things to get your free polyphonic ringtones: A phone capable of using them; a MIDI track of your choice and a way of transferring it from your PC to your mobile.

1: Your mobile phone

The most important bit of kit is your phone. If it doesn't have any ringtones playing more than one instrument or sound at a time you won't be able to get your free polyphonic ringtones to work. In this case you should probably get yourself a decent phone! If it can play MP3's check out the free realtones page. Otherwise, stick here and you're on your way to getting your free polyphonics.

2: How to create polyphonics

Tip: Try this MIDI File and Ringtone Search Software

The easiest way is if you don't have to create it at all - any free MIDI file can become a free polyphonic ringtone. There are loads of sites out there with archives of MIDI files and forums where you can request conversions; have a look at the free ringtones resources links page for a few pointers.

If you can't find the tracks you want anywhere, you'll have to create your own MIDI files to become your free polyphonics. There are quite a few shareware MIDI converters that can take all different types of music files and turn them into ringtone compatible files. If you have a Nokia for instance, have a look at their PC suite available from their website.
